MBA Consulting Association
MBA consulting association is a student run association that facilitates a platform for students to explore and pursue consulting careers. Through a series of workshops, personal mentoring and activities it engages its members to
- Develop professional networks
- Gain exposure to consulting careers
- Provide resources for interviews and case competitions
- Partner with other departments/associations for consulting work
Membership fee for two years is $50.
Abe DeHart - President
Abe DeHart is the president of the Consulting Association. He is an entrepreneur with 10 years of business experience in the Philadelphia area. He has also had work and study experience focused on agricultural business in 15 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa. With a background in Small business operations, he is focusing on courses in Supply Chain Management, Finance, and Strategic Leadership. This summer he will be working Washington DC for Deloitte Consulting in their Federal practice. He is committed to enhancing the skills of students considering consulting, raising awareness about consulting, and encouraging networking among students. Varun Tiwari - VP Communications
Varun Tiwari is the VP of Communications for the MBA Consulting Association. At Smeal, he is concentrating in Supply Chain and Finance. He has over seven years of work experience in execution of large scale construction projects in India and Singapore. Starting out as a design engineer for Larsen & Toubro Limited’s Power Projects division in India, he worked in various functions including project management, sourcing & procurement as well as business development. He has also worked for three years with Lanco International in Singapore during which he managed supply chain for power equipments sourced from China. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India. An avid traveller, Varun has visited most of South East Asia, China and Oceania. He likes to cook and try out different cuisines.
Sahana Chandrasekhara - VP Corporate Relations
Sahana Chandrasekhara is the VP of Corporate Relations – Class of 2016. She is a supply chain professional with seven years of experience in Software as well as Consulting. As part of India Software Labs within IBM, she worked on tool development and optimization. She overhauled a small scale commodity business in India that required her IT as well as analytical skills. As a supply chain consultant, she has worked mainly on Strategic Sourcing. She is concentrating in Supply Chain Management and Strategic Leadership and hopes to resume her Consulting career after finishing her MBA at Smeal. As the VP of corporate relations, she is dedicated to develop long term corporate relations and leverage their association and knowledge to help the MBA student body jump start their career in not just consulting but any consulting role the future offers.
Cory Rundle - VP Finance
Cory Rundle is the VP of Finance for the MBA Consulting Association. Prior to joining Smeal, Cory worked for Johnson & Johnson’s consumer division, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, in the Technical Operations department and for J&J's pharmaceutical division, Janssen Pharmaceuticals, in the Pharmaceutical Development Manufacturing Sciences department. In the Summer of 2015, he will be joining Deloitte Consulting in their Strategy and Operations Commercial Practice. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Penn State and is pursuing his MBA with concentrations in Supply Chain Management and Finance.
Praveen Rastogi - VP Project Management
Praveen Rastogi is an MBA student, Class of 2016. He is specializing in Supply Chain, Finance, and Strategic Leadership. Currently, Praveen is a teaching assistant with the department of Supply Chain and Information Systems. Praveen is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has worked with Siemens for more than five years in Project Management, Sourcing and Procurement functions. Praveen secured 2nd place in annual 2015 Supply Chain case competitions sponsored by Deloitte and Chevron. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, India. In his spare time, Praveen loves to experiment in the kitchen. He enjoys travelling, adventure sports and watching movies.
