Transportation To & Within The University

Traveling to and from Penn State University Park is easy with the various options available to students. Check below for personal and public transportation choices.

  • Campus Maps - Includes campus building maps and university parking maps.
  • Getting To University Park - Driving directions as well as bus, train, and air travel are detailed here.
  • University Park Airport - Information for anyone who may need more details on our local airport.
  • Traveling from University Park Airport to Campus - Typically, you will find taxi-cabs waiting in the pick-up area of the airport. Additionally, there are several car rental agencies available at the airport.
  • CATA Bus - The State College public bus system. Their buses travel around town and on campus daily.
  • Driver's License - Do you have a car and want to know how to get a Pennsylvania Driver's License? Check here for more information! Please note: Pennsylvania requires a Social Security Card from all Driver's License and PA ID Card applicants.
  • Parking - The closest commuter parking lot is at the Bryce Jordan Center. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the Business Building from this lot or there is an inter-campus bus loop available through the CATA Busline. In order to park on campus, your vehicle must be registered through the Penn State Parking Office.  Student parking registration will take place on the Transportation website in August.
