Global Immersion

Global Immersion – February 24 - March 1, 2019

The first activity for the MBA Global Immersion is Sunday, February 24.  We ask that you arrive in-country on Saturday, February 23.  This gives you time to acclimate to your new surroundings and time zone.  It also allows extra time for unexpected travel delays.  Required activities end on Friday afternoon, March 1.  Your hotel is covered the evening of Friday, March 1 and we encourage you to stay until Saturday, March 2 and make the most of your time in that country.  If you do need to leave on Friday, please do not schedule a flight prior to 9:00 p.m. that evening.

The destinations for 2019 are forthcoming.  Our last Global Immersion trips were to:

  • Budapest, Hungary and Prague, Czech Republic

Itineraries (2017)

Itineraries (2016)

Awareness of international business practices and diverse cultures is an integral part of life as an MBA student, both in the classroom and beyond. Global Immersion is a one-week hands-on opportunity for Smeal MBA students to strengthen and deepen their understanding of global business. Each trip affords you a chance to meet with business leaders for a look at the inner-workings of their corporation and how the company operates in the economy of the country. A city tour will be planned for the first day of the trip to get you acclimated to the area and provide an idea of the places you can visit if there is free time.  Cultural activities are also planned.

A copy of your passport will be need to be turned in to our office.  Further instructions will be provided at a later date.
