Portrait of Guru Neelakandan.Guru Neelakandan, President

Guru Neelakandan is the president of the MBA Marketing Association. Guru aims to make the Marketing Association a springboard that members of the marketing community can use to launch into successful careers. His goal is to make sure the students interested in Marketing have the necessary resources and opportunities to learn and grow while at Smeal.  

Guru, an engineer turned marketer, hails from India where he worked as a sales manager for four years in the auto industry. He has also worked extensively with NGO’s in the education sector in various capacities.

Guru is concentrating in Marketing and Finance and chose Smeal for its tight-knit community, quality faculty and alumni network. Outside of school, Guru enjoys swimming, soccer, cycling and running.

Amanda Flecha is the Vice President of Corporate and Alumni Relations for the MBA Marketing Association. Amanda’s goal is to expand the association member’s network with alumni and corporate contacts, creating relationships that bring value and growth opportunities to her fellow marketers.

Amanda joined the Smeal program bringing 5 years of work experience in advertising agencies in Brazil. Throughout her career, she has worked in cross-functional teams delivering strategic and creative solutions to clients in various industries, such as healthcare, fashion, mining, government, consumer packaged goods, and many more.

Amanda opted to join the Smeal community after learning about Smeal's Institute for the Study of Business Markets and the opportunities students have had to work with the institute during their studies. Outside of school, Amanda enjoys lifting heavy weights and pretends to be a wine connoisseur.
