MBA Consulting Association

MBA consulting association is a student run association that facilitates a platform for students to explore and pursue consulting careers.  Through a series of workshops, personal mentoring and activities it engages its members to

  • Develop professional networks
  • Gain exposure to consulting careers
  • Provide resources for interviews and case competitions
  • Partner with other departments/associations for consulting work

Membership fee for two years is $50.

Portrait of Ishani Rakshit.Ishani Rakshit, President

Ishani Rakshit is the President of the MBA Consulting Association. She has an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India. Prior to the MBA Program at Smeal, Ishani worked in ABB India for 5 years as a bids and proposal specialist. She has experience in sales, marketing and project management. Ishani has also managed client engagements with Fortune 500 companies across the globe which has helped her broaden her cross-cultural perspective. At Smeal, she is concentrating in Supply Chain and Strategic Leadership.

Portrait of Ajit Smiles.Ajit Smiles, VP of Member Development

Ajit Smiles is the Vice President of Member Development for the MBA Consulting Association.  In this role, Ajit’s primary responsibility is to organize workshops to help members understand and become fluent with the nuances of casing in consulting.  Ajit grew up in Muscat, Oman, and has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from NITK Surathkal, India. Prior to joining the Smeal MBA program, Ajit was based out of Mumbai and worked for five years with Larsen & Toubro. He worked for L&T in various capacities, including as an operations engineer and as a design engineer for power plants.  Ajit is concentrating in Supply Chain Management and Consulting. When he isn’t busy with school work, he enjoys reading, watching TV shows and listening to classic rock. 

Portrait of Sahil Jain.Sahil Jain, VP of Finance

Sahil Jain is the VP of Finance for the MBA Consulting Association.  He came to the Smeal MBA program after working for six years in techno-commercial consulting. He started his career in professional services with Accenture where he spent four years performing a variety of roles such as Business Analysis, Operations Management and Strategic Business Development across multiple industries. He later moved into the industry and spent a year each at Trafigura (world’s 3rd largest commodity trader) and Airtel (world’s 3rd largest telecommunication company). At Trafigura, he was involved with creating a Go to Market and operational strategy for the group’s oil and gas business. At Airtel, he led the development of the Digital Business portfolio for the enterprise market.  He is passionate about design thinking and digital technologies and is always looking for the next big idea. He is well informed on the latest business trends and loves having a conversation on world economics.

Fengjiao Sun is the VP of Communications for the MBA Consulting Association. She has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Shanghai International Studies University. Prior to Smeal, she had four years of work experience in market research and consumer marketing with Unilever and Uber, respectively. She excels in leveraging data analytics and competitor intelligence to drive consumer insights and marketing campaigns. The exposure to both Fortune 500 companies and startups provides her with a multi-lateral perspective of business and numerous cross-functional project management experience. At Smeal, she is concentrating in Strategic Management and Finance.
